Color Run London 2016

Just a week ago, my friends and I had our first Color Run ever in Wembley Arena. We are so fortunate because it did not rain the entire time. Luckily, god heard my prayers. Just imagine running or walking with an umbrella? I dont want to pretend that I ran because there is no way that I am going to run at all. I have never been a fan of running, I would rather do sports or dance as my exercise. However, when I was still a student-athlete or an active figure skater from the Philippines, I always need to run to boost my  muscular endurance and stamina. We usually have this training called Power Stroking that happens early in the morning and sometimes my teammates and I would run outside of Mall of Asia in Manila. Aside from the on-ice exercises, we usually do running, stretching and several off-ice practices before entering the rink. Now, i cannot barely go back to that old habit of mine Ha Ha Ha.

Anyway, I honestly enjoyed this Color Run. I had a wonderful experience with my best gals here in London. I totally consider this as the second most fun run that I have ever experienced. First one was the Outbreak Manila that typically occurs at night with a multitude of blood-splattered zombies loitering around the area. Sounds scary but it is totally FUN and you will be forced to run because some zombies will chase you.

The Color Run is known as the 'Happiest 5K On The Planet' and it is definitely true! Every one Kilometre, there will be a bunch of people that will welcome and throw powder on people. They use a coloured powder made of food grade cornstarch. It is obviously 100% natural and safe but it could be quite irritating to the eyes. Some people wear glasses or googles and a bandana to protect their eyes and mouth. The coloured powder is easy to remove from the skin but I am not sure with the clothes because I did not remove mine, I just put it in a ziploc to keep it forever like that Ha Ha Ha.   In addition, Color Run has some dancers and musicians along the way to entertain the color runners. There was also a mini concert/party at the end of the run and several food trucks around the place. Even the parents and friends of color runners can enjoy the concert too.

I got a Solo Color Runner ticket with a classic kit that includes a t-shirt, headband, face paint and tattoos. They usually deliver it a week before the event. I also bought a cheap pair of shoes from Forever21 just for this. I just dont want to use any of my shoes because i dont want to ruin it and be upset at the end of the day. My video for this will be up very soon! <3

If you are interested to join the Color Run, they will host another event in September 2016. So stay tuned!
